As part of the visit of an ICANN representative to Uzbekistan, a working meeting was held between representatives of the .UZ Domain Administration and Seher Sagiroglu, ICANN Stakeholder Engagement Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia region.

The meeting focused on further cooperation, including the deployment of an L-Root server in Uzbekistan, the development and application of DNSSEC technologies, as well as other relevant technical and administrative matters.

The deployment of an L-Root server in Uzbekistan will help enhance the stability and reliability of the DNS infrastructure, reduce network latency when accessing the root DNS infrastructure, and strengthen the technical resilience of the national Internet ecosystem.

Particular attention was also paid to the continued participation of the .UZ Domain Administration in ICANN activities and to expanding its engagement in international initiatives and the organization’s working processes.

Seher Sagiroglu also provided information on ICANN’s plans and new programmes aimed at developing technical capacity and strengthening cooperation with the regional DNS community.

The meeting marked an important step in further strengthening cooperation between the .UZ Domain Administration and ICANN, as well as in advancing joint technical initiatives.
